Bhagavad Gita
There are many moments throughout the day when I feel like Arjuna. Almost everyday, there is something on my mind I don’t want to do. It could be school related, or it could something else. I’ve never took the time to stop and think about how many times throughout the day I don’t want to do a certain thing, but now as I look back on it, it happens a lot.
I could apply my message to the Bhagavad Gita by the fact that I was trying to ignore the fact that I had homework, and wanted to something else. Although, the next day, I realized it was a good thing I did my World Civ homework or else I would have failed the test.
The Indian viewpoint of the Bhagavad Gita is very different from the Americans viewpoint because the Indians believe everyone has endless lives, therefor they wouldn’t worry about a certain things as much as and American would. Most Americans believe there is only one life, leading us to try and do the best we possibly can.
One way the Bhagavad Gita could be used as a tool of oppression back in India is if only the wealthy or a select few could have many afterlife’s, this could also cause riots and people disobeying the religion if only a select few were eligible for the afterlife.
